OUR CLIENTS
"Mental Health affects everybody, not just anybody!"
At The M Word cic we understand that Mental Ill Health doesn't have a type. It's diverse in who it affects. Whilst we are a small team, we have an intense passion for supporting others with their mental health. We offer mental health assessments following the NHS model, Initial Screenings following the ADOS model (Mental Health, Autism, ADHD, and PDA profiling), Educational Health Care Plans (EHCP) or Independent Education Plans (IEP), Annual and Emergency Reviews, and we offer talking therapy. We work with young people, adults, women struggling with the menopause, as well as military Veterans. We are also passionate about supporting young people and adults with understanding their neurodiverse presentation.
"For the Children"
Dedicated to The M Word, and all who truly listen
In a world that moves too fast to feel,
Our children break while trying to heal.
They're asked to bend, to shrink, to mold—
To silence dreams, to do as told.
The mirror lies, the screens deceive,
And innocence begins to leave.
They chase a truth that isn't real,
A polished world that doesn't feel.
Their minds are loud, yet go unheard,
Each cry for help, each broken word.
They're labelled, judged, then pushed aside,
With pain and shame they learn to hide.
The systems built to shield their pain
Now echo back more of the same.
A waiting list, a year, then two—
And when they're lost, what do we do?
They burn out young, then fall through cracks,
No strength to fight, no strength to ask.
Dismissed, discharged, they're told "You’re fine,"
While silently they toe the line.
But in my darkest, hopeless days,
Two voices cut through all the haze.
The M Word came—a light, a flame,
And nothing ever felt the same.
They saw me when no one else would,
They held me up, they understood.
They didn't just hear—they truly knew,
The war I fought, the hell we’d been through.
They took my hand, they gave me grace,
They saw the pain behind my face.
They knew the fear, they felt the cost,
Of every child this world has lost.
For they have stood where I now stand,
With breaking heart, with trembling hand.
And still they rise, they give, they fight—
For every child to find their light.
They know our kids aren’t meant to bend,
They weren’t made wrong—they do not need to mend.
It's not the child who needs to change,
But systems that must rearrange.
So here I stand, still battle-worn,
But not alone, no more, no more.
For when the world refused to see,
Two warriors stood strong for me.
To The M Word, with endless love—
You are the storm, the fight, the dove.
And every time I find my voice,
It's you who helped me make that choice.
